About Martenot Radio
Martenot Radio is a generative broadcasting project dedicated to the exploration of quiet music and sonic minimalism. Each composition is not simply played, but performed live by a synthesis engine that interprets JSON scores in real time.
The name pays homage to the ondes Martenot, one of the earliest electronic instruments, and to the idea that technology can be poetic — a meeting point between signal and emotion.
The station curates works that drift between composition and system, stillness and movement. Every broadcast is unique; every rendering of a piece slightly different, shaped by subtle variations and temporal chance.
“Quiet music that moves.” — Martenot Radio
We maintain a progressive and inclusive approach to sound art, encouraging submissions from composers, developers and listeners who believe that generative music can open new forms of presence and attention. The project runs autonomously, guided by curiosity rather than industry, and sustained by those who listen.
You can submit your own generative works, learn about the synthesis format, or simply tune in and let the system play.
